The Write Love

I melt a little when I reach into the gift bag and my finger makes contact with the sturdy, round-edged feel of a Moleskine notebook because it means my husband understands and supports my passion. And being that writers are creatures ruled by their passions, he most definitely benefits from my happy moods.
Ever since I opened up about my writing, I've found a creative partner. While working on my screenplay, he became my creative sounding board helping me to compile and acquire similarly themed movies for me to binge on. He's my encyclopedia of fantasy novels and witty remarks. I often ask him for a line of dialogue. Or he directs me to a show or movie or book that sets me in the right direction. And while he may not read all my work, as my current venture into young adult fiction isn't his forte, he still lets me vent and offers suggestions to my current plot problems.
He gets that sometimes I need to run away to Panera or Starbucks for a writing marathon which makes me want to attack him with kisses later. He knows, I'm not entirely sane if I don't write it out. So he distracts the kids so I can exorcise my demons onto the page.
I am grateful and lucky to be blessed with a husband who gets my creative side and encourages it. That's why the gifts of notebooks or pens or time alone to write or an outing or adventure for my birthday so I have more experience to write about makes me giddy with love for him. I have the right love for my write love.
